Lecture Theatre Hire
The Stirling Smith houses a perennially popular lecture theatre and meeting room, and both are in use throughout the year by groups who place bookings for events and presentations. The lecture theatre seats just over 100 people at its maximum capacity, whereas the meeting room is used by smaller groups.
The lecture theatre is a multi-purpose venue. Its seating is retractable, offering increased floor space to allow boardroom-style seating arrangements or workshops if necessary. If required, we can also provide a blackout facility and large pull-down screen for any groups wishing to bring projection equipment with them. Television and video facilities are also available, as is a radio microphone system. Full access to the venue is available for wheelchair users.
The lecture theatre is in use seven days a week throughout the year, and can be booked for daytime or evening events on most days. The cost of hire is currently £16.00 per hour, although some extra facilities - such as the supply and cleaning of cups and saucers - can incur an additional cost. Once you've made your arrangements, you can send a confirmation of your booking by printing out and filling in a copy of our bookings confirmation form, which can be either posted to us or sent by fax.
